LUX x Art Monte-Carlo Art Acquisition Prize

The new Art Monte-Carlo Acquisition Prize, in collaboration with LUX magazine, brings together 36 leading lights in the world of art and culture to choose an emerging artist whose works will be acquired by the Fair in 2027. Our jury spans the globe. Their chosen artist will be based in southern France, Monaco or northern Italy, regions relevant to Monte-Carlo with among the richest artistic histories in the world.

Our aim each year is to cast a spotlight on talent, rewarding true potential, through the voices of significant art collectors, patrons, philanthropists and entrepreneurs. Artists for the award are privately nominated through our jury members, our network and the art community of LUX magazine. A shortlist of artists will be revealed in early 2027 and the winning artist honoured at Art Monte-Carlo in April 2027

Darius Sanai

Director of the AMC Art Acquisition Prize.

Raya Abid

Tunisian-born and Monaco-based entrepreneur and art collector.

Raya’s passion lies in bringing new projects to life. She grew up in a family of entrepreneurs, learning to plan and structure new ventures under the watchful eye of her father. After earning a Bachelor’s degree from Boston University, with a major in Economics and a minor in International Relations, she went on to graduate from ESSEC Business School with a Master’s degree in International Business Strategy. Following her studies, Raya gained experience in project finance at Natixis Bank in Paris.

In 2009, she created UNFAIR Magazine (Unique News Fashion Arts Ideas & Other Riches), a quarterly publication dedicated to fashion, arts, and culture and based in Abu Dhabi. UNFAIR Magazine marked her first entrepreneurial success. In 2014, Raya became a mother and decided to embark on a new life project. Nostalgic for the taste of natural, wholesome produce, she took over the management of Le Domaine d’Utique (Tunisia), a family estate dating back to 1929. She transformed the estate into acres of organic farmland, combining modern technologies with ancestral farming practices.

In 2019, she founded OLEASTRA, a small-to-medium-sized company operating as a fruit and vegetable processing business. The company offers a selection of gourmet organic products sourced from different terroirs and regions across the Mediterranean, with a particular specialization in premium extra virgin olive oil. As the fourth generation of olive oil producers in her family, Raya has been certified as an olive oil sommelier by the New York International Culinary Center and the Olive Oil Times Education Lab. OLEASTRA has received multiple international awards at some of the world’s most prestigious extra virgin olive oil competitions, positioning it among the world’s finest olive oils and establishing the brand as a pioneer in premium extra virgin olive oil production.

Maloles Antignac

Artist and collector. Based in London, where she is Co-Founder of Maison ETEREL.

Maloles Antignac spent twenty-five years in fashion and art across Paris before turning fully to her artistic practice in 2017. Her ceramics have been exhibited at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris, and in significant venues in Madrid and Mexico City. She now lives in London, where she is Co-Founder and Artistic Director of Maison ETEREL.

Selcan Atilgan

Founder & Director of ARTSA, a contemporary art platform. Connects artists, collectors and institutions across regions. Based in Paris.

Selcan Atılgan is the Founder and Director of ARTSA, an independent global art platform established in 2021, with an international structure spanning Istanbul, Dubai, Hong Kong, Milan and Paris. Working at the intersection of curatorial direction, art advisory, and large-scale cultural production, she develops cross-regional exhibitions, public art programs, and cultural initiatives across diverse cultural contexts.

Selcan conceives and produces exhibitions across institutional, commercial, and site-specific contexts, engaging outdoor and architectural settings. Her work frequently activates historic landmarks, hospitality venues, and urban environments, situating contemporary art within wider cultural and public frameworks. Alongside this, she advises private and corporate collectors and leads the strategic development of art collections, shaping acquisitions, narratives, and long-term positioning. She works in close dialogue with galleries, institutions, foundations, and brands to develop projects that operate across both cultural and market contexts.

Prior to founding ARTSA, Selcan established S&A Art Consultancy in Dubai, facilitating cultural exchange between Middle Eastern and European art scenes. Originally from Istanbul, she holds a Master’s degree in Art Business from Sotheby’s Institute of Art and a BA in Business Administration from Istanbul Bilgi University. She is fluent in English and Turkish, with working knowledge of French, Arabic, and German.

Alice Audouin

Founder and chair of Art of Change 21, consultant on art and the environment to the art and luxury sectors. Based in Paris.

Alice Audouin is a pioneer and leading figure of the dialogue between contemporary art and the environment. She is the founder and chair of Art of Change 21 (non-profit) and Audouin Consulting (consultancy on sustainability for the art and luxury sectors). Alice Audouin is also a curator, art advisor and author.

Sassan Behnam-Bakhtiar

Contemporary artist based in the South of France and Qatar.

Visionary contemporary artist examining energy as the invisible architecture of existence, where consciousness, nature and human evolution converge to reveal deeper questions of origin, transformation and becoming. Based in the South of France and Qatar.

Marie-Laure de Clermont-Tonnerre

Collector and Founder of Spirit Now London, an international community of patrons and collectors supporting major art institutions.

Marie-Laure de Clermont-Tonnerre is the founder of Spirit Now London, an international community of patrons and collectors supporting major art institutions. Within this philanthropic mission, Marie-Laure chairs The Spirit of Giving Committee, which oversees the Spirit Now London Acquisition Prize with Frieze, now celebrating its fifth edition in partnership with the Photographic Centre of the Victoria and Albert Museum.

Maryam Eisler

Photographer, artist, collector. Former co-chair of the Tate Middle East North Africa Acquisitions Committee. LUX magazine Chief Contributing Editor. Based in London and Arles.

Maryam Eisler is an internationally acclaimed photographer, author of several books exploring artists and their studios, and a longstanding cultural advocate. She is the former co-chair of the Tate Middle East North Africa Acquisitions Committee. She has extensive experience serving on arts and higher-education boards in both the US and UK, and currently sits on the Advisory Board of Photo London and is a member of The Brooklyn Rail’s Patrons Council. Her multifaceted career brings together artistic practice, publishing, patronage and a sustained commitment to championing contemporary art and artists.

Canda Elgiz

Member of the founding family of Elgiz Museum Istanbul, continuing her contemporary art engagement from London and leading the museum’s international relations.

Frédéric Engerer

Managing Director of Artemis Domaines, private holding of the Pinault family and owner of Château Latour. Based in Bordeaux and Paris.

Paul Ettlinger

Co-Chair of the British Council UK Circle, a member of the Hayward Gallery Commissioning Committee and sits on Art Basel’s Global Patrons Council. Based in London.

Dr Paul Ettlinger is the founder of The London General Practice and a pioneer of UK concierge medicine. A distinguished physician and significant contemporary-art collector, he is a leading cultural patron, serving as Co-Chair of the British Council UK Circle, a member of the Hayward Gallery Commissioning Committee and invited to be on Art Basel’s Global Patrons Council.

Nicoletta Fiorucci

Art patron, collector, and founder of the Nicoletta Fiorucci Foundation. Creator of the Nicoletta Fiorucci Foundation Prize at Frieze London. Trustee of the Serpentine Galleries, London. Based in London and Italy.

Nicoletta Fiorucci is an arts patron, collector, and founder of the Nicoletta Fiorucci Foundation (2021 – present), built on the legacy of the previous Fiorucci Art Trust (2010–2021). In 2025, she launched the Nicoletta Fiorucci Foundation Prize at Frieze London, supporting non-traditional media and unconventional forms of presentation at the fair.

Since 2019 she has sat on the Board of Trustees of Serpentine Galleries, supporting major commissions and special projects. Fiorucci is a Founding Patron of the Swiss Institute, Serpentine Galleries North, Gasworks, Studio Voltaire, Design Museum and the Yinka Shonibare Foundation.

Throughout the years, Nicoletta has supported several art organisations, artists and exhibition projects internationally, as Patron at the Castello di Rivoli Museum of Contemporary Art in Turin; Patron at Ordet, Milan; Major Donor at ICA, Milan, as well as Lifetime Member of Kunsthalle Basel.

Tiziana Frescobaldi

President of Compagnia de’ Frescobaldi (Frescobaldi Group). Patron of the arts and founder of the Artisti per Frescobaldi project, uniting the worlds of wine and contemporary art. Based in Florence.

Since 2019, Tiziana Frescobaldi has served as President of Compagnia de’ Frescobaldi S.p.A., which heads the Frescobaldi Group. In 2021, as President of the holding company, she established, among other initiatives, the Family Council and, in 2022, the Comitato Nomine (Nomination Committee), the body that selects possible candidates from the family’s younger generations for assumption into the firm.

Always deeply committed to the field of art, in 2012 she conceived and organised the Artisti per Frescobaldi project, uniting the worlds of wine and contemporary art and thus continuing the centuries-old Frescobaldi tradition of patronage of art and artists. She is also the co-founder of Associazione Città Nascosta (Hidden City Cultural Association), launched in 1994 to promote appreciation of the artistic heritage of Florence and of Tuscany.

Gloria Gianoglio

Italian-born, Monaco-based next generation entrepreneur.

Gloria — Italian, born and raised in Monaco, deeply rooted and well connected within the community. Following a distinguished career in consulting across Luxembourg and Paris, she became a successful entrepreneur. Passionate traveller and adventure seeker.

Beatrice Giribaldi Groak

Founder of Rovero Advisors and an adviser to the National Portrait Gallery in London, appointed by its Board of Trustees. Based in London and Monaco.

Umberta Gnutti Beretta

Collector, philanthropist and patron of the arts, and founder of Spazio Almag. Based in Brescia, Italy.

Umberta Gnutti Beretta is an entrepreneur who, for several years, has been actively involved in philanthropy and the non-profit sector. She is the president of HUG Holding, the family business, but is also very dedicated to the arts. She is currently:

She has promoted and supported numerous art projects throughout Italy, such as the Floating Piers project by Christo and Jeanne-Claude on Lake Iseo in 2016.

Joe Kennedy

British cultural entrepreneur, patron and co-founder of UNIT and Dragon Hill. He supports cultural institutions including Tate Modern, The Royal Academy, ICA and Serpentine Galleries.

Joe Kennedy is a British cultural entrepreneur, patron and co-founder of UNIT and Dragon Hill. Working across contemporary art, architecture, storytelling and place-making, he has built platforms that connect artists, collectors, institutions and brands in new ways. He supports cultural institutions including Tate Modern, The Royal Academy, ICA and Serpentine Galleries, and was named to Forbes’ 30 Under 30 for contributions to art & culture. Today, his work is increasingly focused on cultural preservation, patronage and accessibility in contemporary art & culture.

Geoffrey Kent

Founder and chairman emeritus of Abercrombie & Kent (A&K), the pioneering luxury travel company. Based in Monaco.

Geoffrey Kent is the founder and chairman emeritus of Abercrombie & Kent (A&K), the pioneering luxury travel company that helped define the modern safari and transform experiential travel worldwide. A graduate of the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, he served in the British Army before returning to Kenya and building A&K into a global leader in luxury adventure travel across all seven continents.

A dedicated conservationist, Kent founded Friends of Conservation and Abercrombie & Kent Philanthropy and was a founding member and former chairman of the World Travel & Tourism Council. His honors include the WTTC Global Icon Award and induction into the U.K. Travel Hall of Fame. Kent serves as Honorary Consul of the Republic of Kenya in Monaco and was named a Goodwill Ambassador by HSH Prince Albert II.

A champion polo player, he twice won the U.S. Open Polo Championship, captained the Prince of Wales Polo Team, Windsor Park and served as a Rolex ambassador. A lifelong explorer, he has traveled more than 18 million miles across 172 countries.

Angeliki Kim Perfetti

Art historian, curator and art advisor. Future Contemporaries member at the Serpentine Galleries, supporting a new generation of philanthropists. Based in Switzerland.

Collector. Art Historian. Curator and Art Advisor. Writer and Public Speaker. Angeliki Kim Perfetti is the founder of DYNAMISK Independent Curating and Art Advisory. Angeliki works as an Independent Curator and Art Advisor on multiple curatorial and advisory projects, studio visits, workshops, art talks and tours.

Angeliki travels the world to discover, acquire, support, and promote art and artists. This has allowed her to develop unique relationships with galleries, museums, institutions, auction houses, collectors, art advisors and curators. Angeliki also maintains strong ties and collaborations with philanthropists, organizations, and art industry luminaries. She is a Future Contemporaries member at the Serpentine Galleries, supporting a new generation of philanthropists. Based in Switzerland.

Catherine Loewe

Owner of Loewe Contemporary, curator and champion of contemporary artists. Based in London and the South of France.

Catherine Loewe is an art historian, curator and consultant with over 30 years’ experience. After roles at Christie’s, Waddington Galleries and Anthony d’Offay, she founded her own agency, Loewe Contemporary, championing contemporary artists and recently curating public exhibitions for Erwin Wurm and Philip Colbert. Based in London and the South of France.

Francesco Maccapani Missoni

Artist and Missoni family scion, based in Milan.

Francesco Maccapani Missoni is the son of Angela Missoni and Marco Maccapani and the grandson of Rosita and Ottavio Missoni. He graduated in architecture from the Politecnico di Milano and, after several years of internships between Milan and New York, decided not to become an architect by profession, as project lead times were too long for his character. Architecture nonetheless remains his passion and his aesthetic point of view.

Passionate about cooking and very close to his family, in 2018 he published The Missoni Family Cookbook with Assouline. In his free time he cultivated a passion for weaving small strips of coloured paper, later refining his projects by using frames as if they were looms and perfecting them with the search for a special final glaze. Thus began his artistic production of magnetic and intriguing canvases, which he decided to bring to light and show in public only after the pandemic (2021).

Emin Mammadov

Curator and art advisor, with extensive curatorial experience in international exhibitions and the Venice Biennale. Based in Baku.

Hervé Mikaeloff

French independent art consultant and curator. Works closely with LVMH and Louis Vuitton, while also advising private collectors and companies. Based in Paris.

Hervé Mikaeloff is a French independent art consultant and curator, internationally recognized for his work connecting contemporary art, major institutions, luxury brands and private collections. Born in 1969, he graduated from the École du Louvre in Paris in 1991. He subsequently worked at the Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain, then at Galerie Emmanuel Perrotin, before joining the art collection of Caisse des Dépôts in 1995.

Since then, Mikaeloff has curated exhibitions and advised major collections and corporations internationally. He has worked closely with LVMH and Louis Vuitton, while also advising private collectors and companies including Sanofi and Bic. His projects have included exhibitions for Louis Vuitton, Dior and Hennessy, as well as projects at the Venice Biennale, Palais de Tokyo, Hong Kong Museum of Art and Garage Museum of Contemporary Art in Moscow.

Known for his ability to identify emerging artists and create meaningful dialogues between art, fashion and architecture, he has played an important role in introducing contemporary artists to major private and corporate collections. He was appointed Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French Ministry of Culture in 2011. Today, he continues his independent practice through HM Conseils, combining curatorial projects with art advising for leading institutions, brands and private collectors.

Countess Sophie Neuendorf

Sophie Neuendorf is Vice President at Artnet, where she is responsible for strategic partnerships. Her particular focus is on the intersection of art, data, technology, and the evolution of the global art market. Her work explores art as an asset class, using data and market intelligence to better understand valuation, liquidity, and investment potential, while examining how digital platforms are transforming the way art is bought and sold.

Alongside her role at Artnet, Sophie is an adjunct professor at IE University and Bocconi University, where she teaches and researches the changing dynamics of the art market, technology, and digital commerce. Alongside her brothers, she also founded an artist residency dedicated to supporting emerging contemporary artists, which welcomes artists once per year at Neuendorf House in Spain.

Her work sits at the forefront of the digital transformation of the art world, with a particular focus on the development of online transactions and the infrastructure, data, and new business models shaping the future of the market. Based in Madrid.

Jonathan Newhouse

Simon de Pury

Legendary art world figure. Auctioneer, curator, photographer, art dealer. Chief photographic contributor of LUX magazine. Based in Monaco.

Founder of de PURY, Simon previously served as chairman and chief auctioneer of Phillips de Pury & Company, Europe chairman and chief auctioneer of Sotheby’s, and curator of the Thyssen-Bornemisza Collection. He now works as an auctioneer, curator, private dealer, art advisor, photographer, and DJ. Based in Monaco.

Isabelle von Ribbentrop

Creative Advisor to the Prix Pictet. Holds prominent roles across leading cultural and philanthropic institutions. Based in London.

She holds prominent roles across leading cultural and philanthropic institutions and is actively engaged in advancing the role of art and culture through partnerships with artists, collectors and institutions.

Lady Ina Sarikhani Weston

Chair of the National Portrait Gallery in London. Co-founder, director and curator of The Sarikhani Collection of art from Iran. Founder member of the International Council of The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Based in London.

Ina Sarikhani Weston is the Chair of the National Portrait Gallery in London. She is the co-founder, director and curator of The Sarikhani Collection of art from Iran, which supports loans, exhibitions, research projects, publications and philanthropy, including several academic posts. Ina is passionate about art, culture and the importance of collaboration and has developed close relationships with partner institutions in the UK, Europe and the US.

Ina is a founder member of the International Council of The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and Visiting Member of its Ancient Near Eastern Council. She is Chair of the Sarre Club, a committee of the Islamic Museum in Berlin, a Trustee at the Royal Academy of Arts, a Fellow of the Ashmolean Museum, and on the Development Board of the Wallace Collection. Ina has been a Trustee of the National Portrait Gallery since 26 January 2026.

Princess Alia Al-Senussi

Alia sits on the Tate Middle East North Africa Acquisitions Committee, Guggenheim Middle East Council & many other boards. Senior Advisor to Art Basel, Senior Advisor to the Saudi Ministry of Culture.

Dr Alia Al-Senussi is a renowned member of the global contemporary art world, an active cultural strategist, writer, patron, public speaker and academic. She holds a number of non-profit board and committee positions at organisations such as Tate (Tate Modern Advisory Council and the Middle East North Africa Acquisitions Committee, previously Chair Tate Young Patrons) and Guggenheim (Middle East Council), amongst many others.

Dr Al-Senussi is the founding Chairman of the K11 International Council and the Global Co-Chair of the LACMA Ambassadors. Working with Art Basel for nearly 15 years with a current role of Senior Advisor and International Outreach VIP for the UK and MENA, as well Dr Al-Senussi works as Senior Advisor to the Diriyah Biennale Foundation under the Saudi Ministry of Culture.

Maria Sukkar
